This Year, Starrett Metrology Solutions are proudly sponsoring Edinburgh University Formula Student, as they compete in the UK’s 20th anniversary of the IMechE Formula Student Competition.

Next week at Silverstone, “EUFS” will demonstrate their year of hard work by taking to the famous race track with a car of their own make and design. Competing amongst some of the most highly accredited engineering students from all over the world as they push the limits of what new talent in this industry can do.

IMechE Formula Student started over 30 years ago in the US, as a program run by the Society of Automotive Engineers. Since it came to the UK in 1998, it has gained in status, eventually gaining the honour of being hosted at one of our most famous race tracks. The competition challenges the young generation of new engineers to experience the industry in a true light. From funding to testing, it comes with a strict rule book of guidelines and regulations -all problem solving opportunities that will prepare the teams for their fast approaching careers.

We were repeatedly impressed by EUFS during their visit to Starrett back in May and they continued to impress us two weeks ago when we were invited to see their workshop. The Team have worked hard to reach the immense skill sets required to compete at this global level. With each year producing more and more talent, the competition is fierce and with new innovations and technologies on show, the stakes have never been higher.

We Wish Edinburgh University Formula Student the best of Luck for next week.
